Street With a View é um projecto de performance urbana que faz uso da tecnologia Google Maps para encenar uma representação criativa e surpreendente da vida na rua de uma cidade.

Street With A View introduz a ficção, de uma forma subtil e espectacular, no mundo virtual do Google Street View.
No dia 3 de Maio de 2008, os artistas Robin Hewlett e Ben Kinsley convidaram a equipa do Google Inc. Street View e os residentes da zona norte de Pittsburgh para colaborar numa série de “quadros” ao longo de Sampsonia Way. Os vizinhos e outros participantes da cidade encenaram situações diversas, de uma parada musical a uma corrida de maratona, uma banda de garagem, uma luta de espadas do século XVII, um salvamento heróico e muito mais…

Street With A View introduces fiction, both subtle and spectacular, into the doppelganger world of Google Street View.
On May 3rd 2008, artists Robin Hewlett and Ben Kinsley invited the Google Inc. Street View team and residents of Pittsburgh’s Northside to collaborate on a series of tableaux along Sampsonia Way. Neighbors, and other participants from around the city, staged scenes ranging from a parade and a marathon, to a garage band practice, a seventeenth century sword fight, a heroic rescue and much more...
